New Manufacturing Technology - Single Point Diamond Turning

Since the beginning of 2009 Spanoptic have been producing optical components using single-point diamond turning (SPDT) machinery. SPDT is an ultra precision process being used to manufacture high-quality optics with non-spherical surfaces from crystals, metals and other materials. Spanoptic can manufacture aspheres and mirrors in diameters from 2mm to 200mm.

With this new production capability, Spanoptic complements the existing product range which has its main focus on flats, prisms, spheres, aspheres and cylinders as well as assemblies.
